What’s your name?
My name is Sharon Pinelda Pamalis. I’m seventeen years old, and I live in Catalga, Costa Rica.
Do you have siblings?
I have three sisters and my mom and Cachi. I get along really well with them. One sister is engaged, and one lives in Pueblo Nuevo. It really makes me happy to be with my family.
And nothing makes me happier. When I’m away from them, I get sad. They’re what makes me happiest in life.
What do you do in your free time?
In my free time, I like to watch TV or play with my sister. Sometimes I play football or listen to music.
What do you want to be when you’re older?
When I’m older, I’d like to open a beauty salon with my sister: we’d run it together — that’s my dream.
If that doesn’t work out, I’d like to design clothes.
I’d also like to have children with my boyfriend. And I want them to finish high school and not drop out like I did.
Then they could do something with their lives.
What do you think are the big global problems?
There are serious problems here: people leave trash all over the place. There isn’t enough money. Some people live on the street.
Others can only afford to rent a home. They don’t have enough money. And they suffer along with their children.
