Transcript

My name is Wolfram Antepohl. I’m forty years old. I live in Linköping in Sweden.

What do you do for a living?

I’m a doctor at the university hospital in Linköping, and I earn about 60,000 krona a month, which comes to about 6,000 euros.

What does globalization mean to you?

To me it means the opportunity to work in another country. To a certain extent, I also see it as a threat, but basically I’d rather see it as an opportunity, as a chance for international cooperation and a chance for advancement.

What worries you?

My main worry concerns problems with regards to the climate, environmental pollution and how to deal with energy reserves. How can I demand that people in China and India produce less carbon dioxide than I do, when I’m not prepared to change the way I live?

What makes you happy?

What makes me happy is being with my family, with my children, my wife, my friends. Challenges make me happy. Challenges that I can meet.

Which country would you like to visit?

I’d like to get to know New Zealand because it’s far away, it’s different and it seems pleasingly exotic to me. But not too exotic.

What do you expect for your future?

I’m wondering if we should move back to Germany for a while, not because it’s essential but because my children can get to know German culture first hand, over a longer period of time.
