I’m Fergus Gibney and I own Annes Florist here in Navan.

I’ve been in business for 36 years. I’ll be 65 years of age this month. I’m retiring soon hopefully.

What worries you?

Traffic gets really heavy from about three o’clock in the afternoon. And then no one bothers coming in anymore because traffic is so heavy in town.

I love being outside. I’ve got dogs I go walking and all that sort of thing you know.

How do you spend your leisure time?

I love being outside. I’ve got dog; we go walking and all that sort of thing. I love being out in the country. I live in the country actually.

What’s your favorite food?

My favorite food would be seafood: muscles, lobster, crab all that type of thing. I love seafood.

What does globalization mean to you?

Bringing flowers from all different parts of the world and then sell them here.

We don’t produce too many flowers on our own, except in summertime.

They’re coming in from other countries like South America, Brazil, Africa, Nigeria, Kenya. They come from everywhere.

Which country would you like to visit?

Most of the old cities in Europe, and all that. I love old cities, cause they are historic.

And then I love churches old churches and all that sort of thing. Look around them.

What makes you happy?

Being busy. Keep going most of the time. When you’re busy you’re happy. Selling plenty of flowers of course.
