The Ing-Form
The Present Participle or “Ing-form”
The present participle (or the “Ing-form”) is made by adding the suffix –ing to the end of the base form (“verb-1”) of a main verb:

Base Verbs that End in –e
When base verbs end in -e, remove the -e ending and add -ing.

Base Verbs with One Syllable, One Vowel and Ending in a Consonant
Double the last letter and add –ing to base verbs with one syllable, one vowel, and ends in a consonant.
