My name is Marcus Vinicius. I live in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and I’m 25 years old.

What do you do for a living?

I’m a hairdresser. It’s the best job in the world.

What does globalization mean to you?

To me it means a lack of community among peoples. We are really getting closer. There’s too little solidarity; too many wars. I associate all that with globalization.

What worries you?

I’m most concerned about the violence in my country: the robberies and the poverty I witness on the street on my way home. Everywhere you look there is so much poverty. That’s what worries me.

What makes you happy?

Getting up in the morning and going to work. Coming home safely and being with my family.

Which country would you like to visit?

The USA is a good country. I would…no…I *will* get to know it. It’s the number one country in the world. Las Vegas — I’d go there.

What do you expect for your future?

I want to set up my own business, have my own haridressing salon. I’m not unhappy here, but it’s best to work for yourself.
