Bailey McConnell: Hello everyone.
Alesha: How are you?
Bailey McConnell: I’m good.
Alesha: What’s your name?
Bailey McConnell: My name’s Bailey McConnell.
Alesha: Why do I like you already? You seem really cheeky.
Bailey McConnell: Maybe.
Alesha: How old are you?
Bailey McConnell: I’m fourteen.
Alesha: Where are you from?
Bailey McConnell: I’m from Milton Keynes.
Alesha: So who’ve you brought today?
Bailey McConnell: I’ve got my mum, my dad, and my brother and my aunt. My other family and friends.
Alesha: Are you a singer song-writer, or are you doing a cover today?
Bailey McConnell: Yeah, I’m going to sing one of my own songs, today.
Alesha: What’s it about?
Bailey McConnell: One of my close, close, close friends has kind of turned on me. Yeah, and it was really unexpected. And it really, really hurt me.
And it wasn’t a good experience, but it’s made me the person I am today.
Alesha: Okay, best of luck.
Bailey McConnell: Thank you. Cheers.

I felt like I was betrayed
In fact I can say that I know
I thought you were my true friend
I thought you were my best friend
But I was wrong
I was so wrong
Ohhh I was so wrong

At first I can say that it hurt
Oh it hurt
The knife that you stabbed in my back
Oh I’ve only pulled it out
I can only just about say
That I’ve recovered
I thought I knew you inside out
But I guess not

It’s not going away
I don’t care what you say
You left me torn and you left me broke
You left me cold in this dying hole

You left me for dead
But there was hope
There was hope
Ohhh

It angers me to know that
I have fallen for you dirty schemes
It angers me to know that
You left me in that short time span

And you were gone in a blink of an eye
And I don’t know why
I did nothing wrong
I did nothing wrong
I did nothing wrong

It’s not going away
I don’t care what you say
You left me torn and you left me broke
You left me cold in this dying hole

You left me for dead
But there was hope
There was hope
There was hope
There was hope
There was hope

Alesha: Wow thank you Bailey. Amanda.
Amanda: That was incredible. The words, I know mean so much to you. And it must have been so awful for you to learn such a tough lesson at such a young age, but you know, it’s a cliché, but it will only make you stronger and tougher and better and in your case, even more talented.

Congratulations. It was an amazing audition.

David Williams: Wow. Bailey, what is there not to like about you? You have a fantastic voice. You play beautifully and you can write really incredible songs.

Often the best singer-song-writers go through something really tough. And they turn it into something beautiful because we can all unite. We’ve all had an experience like that.

Alesha: You’re fourteen years old, but I honestly feel like I’m looking at a little star, and you’ve got just bundles of potential and I just think you’re amazing.

So, let’s take a vote: I’m going to kick this off with a “Yes”. David.
David William: Easiest “yes” today, well done, Bailey.
Amanda: It’s a “Yes” for me. Three “yeses”.
