By authority of the mystic guardians of the universe, on the far-distant planet, Oa, Hal Jordan, test pilot becomes the Green Lantern, a cosmic crusader whose magical power ring at his bidding accomplishes the impossible.

His continued fight against planetary evil.

Green Lantern, guardian of the Galaxy.

Planetoid Sargasso, grim and forbidding. A lone stellar mystery that awaits the unsuspecting space traveler; ruled by a beautiful, but vicious queen, who aspires to rule the universe.

Sargasso Officer: “Queen Sirena, another fleet draws within range.”
Queen Sirena: “Ahh. Perhaps they shall draw Green Lantern into my trap.

Bring them down.”

Instantly, from the planetoid surface, weird emanations suddenly swirl out and snare the passing craft.

Not very far away, a powerful, experimental ship from Earth bursts through the atmosphere into space, an apprentice test pilot at its controls, accompanied by Cairo, Hal Jordan’s Venusian helper.

Hal Jordan, Test-Pilot: “Ease off Tom, you’re going too far out.”
Cairo, Venusian Help: “He’s going to make a first class test-pilot, boss.”
Hal Jordan, Test-Pilot: “Sure, Cairo. Now, I want you to peel off, Tom — You’re too close to the Sargasso Planetoid.”

Tom, Apprentice Test-Pilot: “Holy smokes, you’re right, Mr. Jordan.”
Cairo, Venusian Helper: “Eyaw! We’re caught in the Sargasso current!”
Tom, Apprentice Test-Pilot: “That weird sound: can’t stand it!”
Cairo, Venusian Helper: “Losing control.”

Hal Jordan, Test-Pilot: “No time to recharge my power ring. Got to get to them fast!

Let those who worship evil’s might beware of my power — Green Lantern’s Light.”

.     .     .     .     .     .     .     .

As Green Lantern streaks to the rescue, the young test pilot is ushered before the evil Queen Serena.

Sargasso Officer: “The boy who was with this Earthling escaped us, my Queen.”
Queen Sirena: “No matter. He can go nowhere.

Now, Green Lantern will surely come for these Earth men.”

.     .     .     .     .     .     .     .

Cairo: “Green Lantern! Over here!”
Green Lantern: “Cairo! How did you . . .”
Cairo: “Look! That’s what’s been pulling down all the ships.”
Green Lantern: “It won’t anymore, Cairo, after a bath in green heat!”

Queen Sirena: “So at last: the fish has taken the bait! Only Green Lantern could destroy my electromagneto wave apparatus.”

.     .     .     .     .     .     .     .

Green Lantern: “Hold tight, Cairo. This doesn’t look like a friendly welcoming committee.”
Cairo: “Hey! Cut that out you creeps!”
Green Lantern: “Watch me get them to stun themselves.”

Queen Sirena: “I shall do in Green Lantern myself!

The magno-beam attune to his brainwaves.

Now my pet go! Follow the beam!”

Queen Sirena: “His power ring! Quickly get his ring!”

Sargasso Officer: “We have it, Oh Queen.”

Queen Sirena: “Now he is powerless! Lock him up and guard him with your lives.”

Cairo: “Oh no! They’ve taken him prisoner!

Queen Sirena: “Now my loyal subjects, without Green Lantern to protect them, the Guardians of the Universe will fall before my might. Stand by to blast off.”

.     .     .     .     .     .     .     .

Sargasso Officer One: “Our fleet blasted off.”
Sargasso Officer Two: “This means the end for the mighty Guardians of the Universe.”

A short while later on Planet Oa, in the Great Hall that houses the Immortal Guardians of the Universe . . .

Immortal Guardian, One: “Sirena’s fleet approaches. We are helpless.
Immortal Guardian, Two: “We must find a way to return Green Lantern’s ring to him.”
Immortal Guardian, Three: “What about the Venusian boy, Cairo?”
Immortal Guardian, One: “Ah yes. He’s our only hope. I’ll contact him.”

.     .     .     .     .     .     .     .

Cairo: “Ah, cut it out, Biphi. This is no time for play. I’ve got to find Green Lantern, and . . .”
Immortal Guardian Leader: “Cairo?”
Cairo: “The Guardian.”
Immortal Guardian Leader: “Listen Cairo. Green Lantern and his ring are in the topmost chamber of the castle.

Go! Help him!”

Cairo: “Wilco. Over and out!”

.     .     .     .     .     .     .     .

Cairo: “This window is too small for me. There he is. But how am I going to reach him?

Got it! You can squeeze through, Biphi. Come on, please, in there. Look Biphi, through the window. Hurry, I’m begging you.”

Green Lantern: “Great work, Bestie.”

Officer One: “He’s escaping.”
Officer Two: “Sound the alarm.”

Green Lantern: “Thanks, Cairo. Hop aboard.”

.     .     .     .     .     .     .     .

Cairo: “Here come more troops boss.”
Green Lantern: “No time to lose. Gotta knock them out fast.”
Cairo: “That’s telling them boss.”
Green Lantern: “Now to wrap them up in a tight beam bundle.”

Now Cairo, you go and release all the prisoners, and get back to Earth in the test ship with Tom, while I go to Oa to intercept Sirena.”

Cairo: “Wilco boss. See you back home.”

. . . . . . . .

Queen Sirena: “Green Lantern! He’s escaped! Destroy him quickly!”

Queen Sirena: “Destroy him with destructo bombs!”

Queen Sirena: “He’s wiped them all out. Now . . . ahhhh!”

Green Lantern: “You’ve got a date oh evil Queen, with the Guardians of the Universe!”

. . . . . . . .

Hal Jordan (Green Lantern): “So the Guardians sentenced Sirena to a long term of galactic confinement, thanks to your quick thinking, Cairo.”
Cairo: “Don’t forget Bipi here boss.”
Green Lantern: “Right, thank you Bipi.”
Cairo: “Boss, can I . . .”
Green Lantern: “Sure, Cairo: keep him. I think he’ll make us a fine mascot.”
