Planet Oa, center of the universe. There in the great central hall, beneath Oa’s great cosmic battery, the immortal guardians of the universe are troubled.

Immortal Guardian Leader: “There may be only moments. We must warn Green Lantern.”

.     .     .     .     .     .     .     .

Now in a sleek rocket craft, high above Planet Earth, Green Lantern, in his guise of test pilot, Hal Jordan, gets the messages.

Immortal Guardian Leader: “Take heed, Green Lantern.”
Hal Jordan, Test Pilot: “I hear you Guardian.”
Immortal Guardian Leader: “Evil Star has escaped Galactic confinement. Beware!”
Hal Jordan, Test Pilot: “Evil Star! Wow! Better get down fast!”

.     .     .     .     .     .     .     .

Cairo, Mechanic: “What’s up boss?”
Hal Jordan, Test Pilot: “Big trouble, Cairo.”
Cairo, Mechanic: “Greenlanternsville, huh?”
Hal Jordan, Test Pilot: “You know it.”

Meanwhile, the interplanetary lord of crime, Evil Star, streaks toward Earth.

Evil Star: “Hahaha! Soon, all on Earth shall know that my star-band surpasses any power in the universe.”

Hal Jordan: “Let those who worship evil’s might beware of my power — Green Lantern’s Light.”

.     .     .     .     .     .     .     .

Cairo: “Yaw! What gives?”
Green Lantern: “Evil Star. Outside, Cairo. Hurry!”
Police Officer One: “Gun him down!”

Cairo: “They’re frozen solid. And I’m next!”
Green Lantern: “Not if I can help it.”

Evil Star: “We meet again, Green Lantern.”
Green Lantern: “Try my beam for size, Evil Star.”

Evil Star: “Hey!!! I shall consume you with my star-fire.”
Green Lantern: “Ah-Ah. I think you need a lift.”

Evil Star: “AHHHHHHHHH!!!

I will have my revenge on the Guardians themselves!”

.     .     .     .     .     .     .     .

Cairo: “You sure showed Evil Star who’s boss, right boss?
Green Lantern: “Not for long, Cairo. He’s plotting mischief on Oa. I’d better get up there as soon as I give my ring a full twenty-four hour charge . . . great nebula! The power lantern’s gone dead!”
Cairo: “Wait Green Lantern. With my radio, sometimes this makes it work.”
Green Lantern: “Haha! Good work, Cairo!”
Cairo: “Charge it while it’s hot . . . Why’s it flickering?”
Green Lantern: “I’m afraid it means Evil Star is already on Oa. Come on, Cairo.”

Green Lantern: “Up we go!”

.     .     .     .     .     .     .     .

Evil Star: “That should hold up Green Lantern. Now to take care of the Guardians.”

Guardian Leader: “Evil Star!”
Evil Star: “The same. Now Guardians of the Universe, since there is no one to protect you . . .”

Green Lantern: “Don’t you believe it, Evil Star!”

Green Lantern: “Great Galaxy! My ring!”
Evil Star: “Without this, you are powerless! Now I control the universe!”
Cairo: “Catch boss!”
Green Lantern: “Got it!”
Evil Star: “You’ll pay for that!”
Green Lantern: “Party’s over Evil Star!”
Evil Star: “We’ll see about that!”
Cairo: “Get him, GL!”
Evil Star: “Try and catch me while there is still time!”

Cairo: “Time? What did he mean by that?”
Guardian Leader: “I fear Evil Star plans to keep Green Lantern occupied, until the twenty-four hour time limit of his ring’s power has elapsed.”

.     .     .     .     .     .     .     .

Evil Star: “That should keep you busy for a while.”
Green Lantern: “You’re wasting your effort, Evil Star.”
Evil Star: “No, I’m wasting your time. Let’s see you handle my light force beam.”
Green Lantern: “Got . . . Got to get out of this fast.”
Evil Star: “Alright, have you got enough time to overcome this?”
Green Lantern: “I’m tired of playing games, Evil Star . . . Now let’s test your power.”
Evil Star: “No, stop!”
Green Lantern: “Go on Evil Star. Fire another blast from your star band now!”
Evil Star: “No, no. It will destroy me!”
Green Lantern: “Back to Galactic jail for you, Evil Star.”

.     .     .     .     .     .     .     .

Cairo: “Good job, Green Lantern.”
Green Lantern: “Take his star band, Cairo.”
Cairo: “With pleasure, boss.”
Green Lantern: “This bubble will hold him, until he is returned to Galactic confinement.”

Guardian Leader: “We thank you, Green Lantern.”
Green Lantern: “Always at your service, Guardians of the Universe.

Let’s go home, Cairo.”
