Goldilocks

Once upon a time there lived a little girl. Her name was Goldilocks.

Goldilocks lived with her family in a house in the country.

A Beautiful Day!

One day, Goldilocks went for a walk. It was a beautiful day. The sun was shining and the birds were singing. She wandered into the woods.

In the Woods

After a while, Goldilocks saw a big cottage. It was very nice and cute. So Goldilocks opened the door and went in.

Inside she saw a table. On the table were three bowls of porridge.

Now Goldilocks was hungry after wandering all morning.

Bowls of Porridge

So she went to the big bowl. She took the spoon and tasted the porridge. But it was too hot. So she went to the medium-sized bowl and tasted the porridge. But it was too cold.

Next she went to the little bowl. The porridge was just right — and she ate it all.

Goldilocks was also tired from all that walking.

Three Chairs

She saw three chairs. First she went and sat on the big chair. But it was too hard. Next she went and sat on the medium-sized chair. But it was too soft. And so she tried the small chair.

It was just right!…But then it smashed to pieces.

By now Goldilocks felt sleepy. So she went upstairs.

Upstairs

Upstairs she saw three beds.

First she laid down on the big bed. But it was too hard. Next she laid down on the medium-sized bed. But it was too soft. And so she laid down on the small bed.

It was just right.

Soon Goldilocks was fast asleep.

Return

Some time later, three bears came into the cottage. They sat down on the table and picked up their spoons.

“Someone’s been eating my porridge,” said the papa bear.
“Someone’s been eating my porridge, too,” said the mama bear.
“Someone’s been eating my porridge, too,” said the baby bear. “And it’s all gone!”

Chairs

The family went to their chairs.

“Someone’s been sitting on my chair,” said the papa bear.
“Someone’s been sitting on my chair too,” said the mama bear.
“Someone’s been sitting on my chair too,” said the baby bear. “And it broken!”

Now they went upstairs.

Sleeping

The papa bear went over to his bed.

“Someone’s been sleeping on my bed,” said the papa bear.
“Someone’s been sleeping on my bed too,” said the mama bear.
“And someone’s sleeping on my bed,” said the baby bear. “And there she is!

Goldilocks now woke up.

Awake

When she saw the three bears, she jumped out of bed and ran downstairs.

She ran out of the house…and ran….and ran….and ran as fast as she could.

Back Home

After a while she saw her house again. Her mother was standing at the doorway.

“Where have you been, Goldilocks?” she asked.
“Oh…nowhere special. I went for a walk,” replied Goldilocks.
“Come in now. Your porridge is getting cold.”
