Pizza delivered by drone is now a reality. Domino’s made the first commercial food delivery. It happened near Auckland, New Zealand.

The autonomous drone flew two to three minutes.

And dropped the pizzas off in a backyard. It was faster than the five minute drive to pick it up.

The DRU Drone by Flirtey was overseen by drone pilots.

Domino’s wants to expand the service globally. And will start trials in six other countries.

Amazon and Google are developing delivery tech: Google’s Project Wing hopes to begin service in 2017.
