I’m Miguel Méndez García from Pilangosta in Ojacha Province in Costa Rica. I’m thirty-seven (37).
What do you do for a living?
I work as a manager at the Monte Alto Nature Reserve, and earn the equivalent of about a thousand euros.
What does globalization mean to you?
It’s happening. It’s something we can’t stop. But countries like ours aren’t well prepared for it. That’s puts us in a disadvantage when competing with other countries.
What worries you?
Climate change worries me. The rise in temperature that influences environmental equilibrium. In the future, the many species will be threatened with extinction.
What makes you happy?
I’m happy when I have time to enjoy nature; to go for a walk in the forest and be in beautiful natural surroundings.
What’s your favorite food?
I love seafood. That’s what I like to eat most.
Which country would you like to visit?
I’d like to go somewhere in Africa because of the fauna. I think the fauna of the savannas must be amazing. I’d love to go there.
What do you expect for your future?
I want to continue working to preserve the environment, so that future generations, my daughters for instance, can get to know the many species of plants and animals there.
