More than 80,000 stray dogs

Hello and welcome.

My name is Iuliana Rusu. I live and work in Bucharest. This is the home I share with my dog, Nelson.

Come in. Let me show you the living room.

Nelson is a beagle

I just moved out of my old apartment, which was a prefab concrete building. And I moved into this new one because I wanted a shorter commute to work. But I haven’t quite finished furbishing it yet.

The painting here on the wall is by a north German painter. I met him on a visit to Dusseldorf and bought the painting from him.

As you can see, I put valuable things up on the high shelves.

And that’s because of Nelson. I don’t want him to destroy them when he’s home alone. I keep the table cleared for the same reason. I have to be really careful; otherwise he’ll start chewing on things.

This is Nelson’s bed. But he prefers to lounge on the couch, or sleep in the bedroom. He only sleeps here when he’s really tired.

I think the best part of the apartment is the big balcony. I have a nice view. There you see a typical Romanian church. I can also see the park next to it. The view is especially beautiful in the spring, when the flowers start to bloom.

Of course, Nelson likes to sit out on the balcony too, and watch what’s going on down below on the street.
